In this lecture, Dr. Shin Chi Fame Kao (University of Utah) will demonstrate how artificial intelligence (AI) and digital tools can be integrated into language classrooms to enhance pragmatic competence and support meaningful, real-world communication.
Dr. Shin Chi Fame Kao is the Chinese Language Coordinator and Curriculum Director for the Utah Bridge Program at the University of Utah and co-teaches Chinese courses at three Utah high schools. She has over 25 years of teaching and administrative experience, is an ACTFL-certified Oral Proficiency Interview tester, an AP Chinese Exam reader, and the recipient of the 2021 Outstanding Chinese Teacher Award from the Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools (CLASS).
